In 1963 the New York Court of Appeals made history by breaking from the place-of-the-injury rule in tort conflicts cases. Ten years later New York's high court again made history, this time for attempting to craft new and narrower rules in tort conflicts. However, the new and narrower rules essentially amount to a common domicile exception to the old place-of-the-injury rule.en_US
