Through this handbook the Faculty of Creighton Memorial St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing extends to you a sincere welcome. Our Residence will be your home for a number of months, and "What We Live By" will serve to orient you to your new horne and guide you while you are preparing to become a professional nurse.The regulations and traditions of our school are not intended to restrict but are rather to allow the greatest freedom for the total group; your freedom ends where it interferes with the freedom of another. These regulations are also intended to help you to healthful and wellbalanced living. In nursing education, the student's responsibility is not only to herself but to those entrusted to her care. Through individual and group cooperation and responsibility we strive to live together harmoniously and to promote the highest standards of professional and social attainment.We hope that by becoming a member of our student group your life will be enriched through the spirit of service and that your influence and enthusiasm will become a constructive force in creating and maintaining the ideal spirit within our school.Please keep this handbook and refer to it frequently.
