    Remark:
This booklet is one of twelve published by Rekos in Greek, apparently upon the designs done by Susaeta for a European-language edition. Its sixteen pages display excellent and lively colored illustrations. Notice how skillfully the editors take the first two-page spread, move the hen into the owner's hand, and produce a single-page cover. This version of the story has the owner believing that there is an egg-producing machine inside the hen He kills the hen to get that machine! One of the best illustrations shows his horrified surprise when he views the hen's innards.
